Notes:

Short-term treatment kelt steelhead were collected at Chandler Juvenile separator and held for reconditioning at Prosser Hatchery. After the 4 to 6 weeks of feeding, we surgically implant VR16 VEMCO acoustic tags in their body cavities. No-terms were collected and held a few days prior to implanting acoustic tags in them. Surgeries were generally performed on Friday and then fish were trucked to the release site below Bonneville Dam on the following Monday. The acoustic transmitters had an expected battery life of about 3 years. The detection zones around each receiver was about 300 to 600 meters.
