Research and Education Potential

Notes:

Central Washington University has a long and continuing tradition of strong commitment to programs that include field research and education as part of their responsibility to Central Washington University students, faculty, the local community, and K-12 education. But This is more than just a university research station – it is a resource for the entire community – a living laboratory for lifelong learning.

This site is rich in biodiversity and presents the opportunity to study a wide variety of plants and animals and their habitats ranging from the aquatic, to the terrestrial, to the avian.
Such diversity provides extensive educational and research opportunities for the students, faculty, and community across a wide-range of disciplines including:
entomology
zoology
ichthyology
herpetology
ornithology
botany
geography
geology
resource management
and education
In all of these disciplines, the over-riding themes of natural resource management, habitat restoration, and habitat monitoring would provide countless projects that could benefit students, the local community, the scientific community, and the environment.
