Yakima River Basin

Notes:

Point out where RAMF is (broodstock collection, sampling and passage timing) and CESRF where broodstock holding and artificial spawning occur. The population spawning above Roza Dam in the upper Yakima, Cle Elum and Teanaway Rivers.
I can’t go into detail on how samples are collected (Mark Johnston covered that earlier in his adult survival talk), but fish taken to CESRF are collected from throughout the run in proportion to how historical run size. So, if 20% of the run historically passes during a given week, then 20% of our broodstock is collected during that week equally spread out over 3-4 days. After collection the fish are taken to CESRF for holding until mature which can take 1-5 months. Fish are then spawned and sampled on a weekly basis.
