- Life history interactions
- Environmental conditions
Identification of optimal management strategies
- Supplementation scenarios
- Life history brood source
- Magnitude of program
- Restoration scenarios
- Changes in survival
- Changes in habitat
Notes:
The first one is simple, increase our understanding of sympatric population dynamics in the form of interactions between the two life history forms and their response to changes in environmental conditions. 2.) Assist with the identification of management options that could potentially increase the abundance of Upper Yakima steelhead by modeling various supplementation scenarios and restoration scenarios. This could include modeling different types of supplementation scenarios and various restoration scenarios by altering survival or changes in habitat capacity and productivity. As previously mentioned, Upper yak steelhead are Currently listed as threatened, NOAA fisheries has identified the Upper yakima as an historically large population and has set minimum abundance thresholds at roughly 2250 spawners. As you can see, we’ve got a long ways to go before this population is deemed recovered.
