O.mykiss Life Cycle Model synopsis
Notes:
At this point, we have a method for growing fish in the freshwater environment and compensating for intra-specific competition. Prior to recruitment into the next age class, a proportion of the anadromy cohort is extracted for smoltification and a proportion of the resident population is designated for maturation. The third component describes the migratory survival of the anadromous outmigrating cohort made up of 1- 4 yr old smolts and it also completes the anadromy life cycle. Smolting age classes are extracted from the appropriate brood year for proper representation of migratory age classes. The inner basin migrant survival and out of basin smolt to adult survival estimates were split into separate estimates so the available data could be used to support these explicit input parameters. It also allows for modeling scenarios that partitions mortality differences to within the subbasin and out of the subbasin.
